Rang De Indian Folk and Bollywood Dance Company has been teaching in the Bay Area since year 2,000. They teach Indian Folk, Semiclassical, and Bollywood dances of India in San Francisco and New York. They have been teaching the most popular class at Salesforce Park last 3 years, called Bollywood Nights and also now the most popular and with upto 336 registrants at Plaza 33 in New York. This is a place of magic where students have further created their own communities and this is a part of healing of San Francisco for it once was known to be the city of music, art, poetry, and dance.

At the heart of Rang De lies our commitment to preserving, teaching, and celebrating the rich tapestry of Indian dance traditions through Indian Folk, Kathak, and Bollywood and we bring all of dance and acting expertise into the growth of students class over class. Our mission is to foster fun, happiness, joy through inclusive teaching and environment for all ages and all levels while creating exciting choreographies and making our class experiences from beginners to advanced about empowerment, self love, healing, while experiencing beauty, grace, health, and joy. People come to train for wedding dances in our classes and to connect to the tunes of India.

Manpreet was born in Punjab, India and in her bloodline runs two core folk dances in Punjabi language called Bhangra and Giddha. She has been teaching, choreographing, performing since she was 4 years old. She at a young age started training in Kathak (Indian classical dance) and has studied under celebrity teachers from India. She has earned a Visharad (bachelor’s) in Indian folk dances in India. Manpreet has performed at National Center of Performing Arts in Mumbai, India and has led performances as head choreographer at Grace Cathedral, Palace of Fine Arts, and the Herbst Theatre. She has also been awarded by Indian Actor Dharmendra and choreographed for celebrity Punjabi Folk Singers, Ranjit Bawa and Sukhbir.

Living in America, she also immersed herself in Western dance forms like pole dance, salsa, hip hop and belly dance and performed at World Salsa Congress and North Pole Dance Competition. One of her aspirations behind going deeper into Indian Folk and Kathak dances was that she wanted mastery in creating Indian dance choreographies to songs. There are at least 100-500 different types of Indian music styles not including languages. The depth in India is limitless in music, dance, and costumes therefore her trip to India to train and create costumes from scratch in over 20 different dance styles. People will dance to popular songs but not all will understand the dance forms and music style, musicality, or lyrics in the song. She teaches these elements as part of her choreographic routines in a very fun way. People go deeper into India all the while having fun in an empowered way.. Manpreet and Amit also met through dancing and love it when others experience magic, healing, beauty, community, grace, and fun through their classes. Entertainment and joy is in their bones.

Amit Sharma has over 30 years experience as a performance stage actor in traditional and modern Indian live theatre plays and films. Dance was always in his bones. His choreography styles embrace traditional folk and Filmy Style Indian Dance that originated with the Hindi actors Amitabh Bachan and Govinda (These styles are almost non-existent) nowadays in America but we teach these. Amit comes from a lineage of Indian Actors with his father having acted in 37 Indian movies. Amit also learned percussions from the late Zakir Hussain, a four time grammy award winner.

Together, they both have no limits when it comes to growing as artists individually and together and often are found creating miraculous experiences in classes or for Amit also in movies/theatre plays and the dance floor all the while dancing, empowering, and cracking silly jokes.

One of the best experiences in San Francisco.. and luckily it’s not just a one day thing. Every Friday is bound to be magical in her classes. Manpreet, the instructor, has a very unique way of teaching the dance here. The way she explains all the lyrics to such a variety of audience is commendable. More importantly, she has created such an amazing community for us to enjoy and we all here are super thankful to her. Even my friends from New York wants to see her teach dance class at Times Square itself. Good cardio, super fun dancing, and perfect Bollywood vibes.. Perfect for Beginners and Experts Alike! - Prajal Mishra, Engineer

I recently had the pleasure of attending Manpreet’s Bollywood dance class, and I must say, it was an absolute blast! Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, this class caters to everyone's skill level.

The highlight of the class was undoubtedly her teaching style. With a knack for breaking down complex steps into manageable chunks, even the most intricate routines felt attainable. The pacing was just right, ensuring that beginners didn't feel overwhelmed while keeping experts engaged. Highly recommend! Kavneet Bindra, Dentist.

They are amazing, they make dancing look so easy and a lot of fun! Both of them bring their own flair and have wide range of moves that make each choreo very unique and memorable. Whenever one of the songs play, I am reminded of the moves they taught haha:) The turnout every week is incredible! - Abhinav

I've heard about Rang De Bollywood dance classes at Salesforce Park 4 weeks back through a meetup event and my only regret is not knowing about this class earlier! Its very convenient for people like me to just walk to the Salesforce park every Friday after work to learn to dance to some amazing bollywood tunes. Manpreet and Amit are amazing instructors and they're very inclusive and welcoming. Can't wait for the next class already!! Thank you for providing such an amazing platform and keeping up with the spirit of San Francisco! - Srujan, Engineer
